1. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files stored in your browser by websites. They are used to remember your login status, language preferences, security tokens, and other settings so that we can provide a better experience on your next visit.
In addition to traditional cookies, we may also use browser storage mechanisms such as localStorage and sessionStorage to achieve similar functionality.
2. Types of Cookies We Use
The cookies we use fall into the following categories:
- Strictly Necessary Cookies: These cookies are essential for Rshift to function properly, including authentication sessions (Clerk), edge security controls, and routing state. Disabling these cookies will prevent you from using the platform.
- Functional Cookies: These cookies remember preference settings and support product experiences, such as language selection (rshift-locale), workspace context, and in-browser draft caches.
- Analytics and measurement technologies: We may use cookie-free aggregated analytics tools to understand platform usage. We do not currently set non-essential analytics or advertising cookies. If we later use non-essential cookies that require consent, we will provide consent or preference controls where required by applicable law.
3. Specific Cookie Inventory
Below are the main cookies and local storage items currently used by Rshift:
- __clerk_db_jwt / __session (Clerk): Authentication session tokens. Type: Strictly Necessary. Duration: Session-based or short-lived.
- rshift-locale (localStorage): User-selected interface language (zh/en). Type: Functional. Duration: Persistent until manually cleared.
- ai-draft:* (sessionStorage): Stores AI draft content during the current browser session before you discard it or save it as a document. Type: Functional. Duration: Current tab or browser session.
- Edge security cookie: Bot management and abuse-prevention signal. Type: Strictly Necessary. Duration: typically short-lived.
- Aggregated visit analytics: Cookie-free traffic trend measurement. Type: Analytics and measurement. Duration: No persistent browser cookie is set.
4. Third-Party Cookies
When you connect third-party platforms through Rshift (such as OceanEngine, Tencent Ads, Google Ads, etc.) or complete subscription payments through Stripe, these platforms may set their own cookies during the OAuth authorization or checkout flow. These third-party cookies are governed by their respective privacy and cookie policies.
Rshift does not control the setting or management of third-party cookies. Please refer to the relevant third-party policies for details.
5. How to Manage Cookies
You can manage cookies in the following ways:
- Browser Settings: Most browsers allow you to view, delete, and block cookies. The specific steps vary by browser — please refer to your browser's help documentation.
- Clear Local Storage: You can clear localStorage and sessionStorage data through your browser's developer tools.
- Note: Disabling strictly necessary cookies will prevent you from signing in or using Rshift normally.
6. Mainland China Note

(上海格子汇科技有限公司) acts as the local compliance operator for mainland China and handles local compliance support, regulatory communications, and rights requests related to cookie use.
